A heat pump works the same way as a regular air conditioning system except it has the ability to reverse the refrigerant process. During winter when it gets cold the outdoor unit acts the same way the indoor unit does in the summer time. The refrigerant absorbs heat from the outside air and is then pumped to the indoor unit where the cold air in your home is blown over the indoor coil. The cold air blowing over the coil absorbs heat from the refrigerant flowing through the coil and then is sent through the supply grilles in your home. This method of heating is 3 times more efficient than traditional electric heating.
Air conditioning works by removing the heat from inside your home. Heat can not be created or destroyed it can only be moved. Therefore when the air in your home is pulled through the return air grilles the heat in the air is absorbed by the refrigerant flowing through the indoor coil located inside your air handler. This cools the air and this air is blown through the supply grilles throughout your home. The heat that has been absorbed by the refrigerant is then carried through the copper lines and distributed in the coil located in the outdoor unit or condenser. The fan in the condenser pulls cooler air over the coil and the refrigerant is cooled and pumped back inside to begin the cycle again.

The old saying is true "You get what you pay for." This certainly applies to the air conditioning industry. When someone is offering a odd "Special Deal" it is a good idea to make sure they are not forgetting something very important. For instance when replacing your air conditioning system does that price also include resealing of the supply duct and also balancing the air flow to avoid hot and cold spots? Did they check to make sure the return duct was properly sized to accommodate the air flow requirements of the new air conditioning system? If it's not properly sized it could end up not lasting as long or causing mold and mildew problems as well as decrease the comfort in the most important place of all, your home. Does the living room tend to get hotter than the rest of the home? If so you may need a return air grill installed to provide a outlet for the hot air in that room. All of these things and MORE may not be considered when you choose a "No-Name" air conditioning company or the cheapest "AC Guy" to replace your air conditioning system. When you choose Cee Bee you choose a LICENSED and INSURED contractor with decades of experience and a reputation for THOROUGH installations and quality work at an affordable price.
