These are some questions asked by our customers that may help you solve a problem or avoid a service call:

How often should I change the filter in my system?
     What is an electrostatic filter?
How long should my system last?
     What is a heat pump?
Should my system be cleaned regularly?
What can I do to reduce my electricity bill?
How do I know which air conditioning company to choose?

  • Q: How long should my system last?
A: A properly maintained system can last around 20 years, however many homeowners do not maintain their systems and this results in poor performance, higher electric bills, and shorter life.

  • Q: What is a heat pump?
A: A heat pump is an air conditioner that can run in reverse. In the summer it pumps heat out of your house, like a normal air conditioner. In the winter it pumps heat into your house reducing the energy costs of using an electric heater.

  • Q: Should my system be cleaned regularly?
A: A semi-annual or annual maintenance is recommended to clean dirt and fungus that accumulates on the air handler coils, and oil the motors for longer life. We will also clean out your drain line to prevent a backup and water damage to your home.

  • Q: What can I do to reduce my electricity bill?
A: There are a number of ways to reduce the energy costs of running your air conditioning system, programmable thermostats, zoning systems, higher efficiency equipment, and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

  • Q: How do I know which air conditioning company to choose?
A: The air conditioning trade is a service industry, therefore choose a company with the best service and knowledge. The cheapest price will only guarantee you one thing…" the cheapest price." The quality of the installation and design will determine the longevity and performance of your equipment. The money left over from "a good deal" won't condition your house… but a properly installed heating and/or cooling system will.
